Let's Talk About The Heavy Sh*T...

In 2019, I was working with a talented executive coach to map out the next exciting steps in my career. With her help, I put together a five-year plan that included personal and professional goals. My husband and I both worked diligently on our plans, and we were elated about everything ahead of us. We set out to “make a plan and work a plan.”

But life had other plans. What wasn’t on my five-year plan was the loss of my mother in 2021. And what I definitely didn’t see coming was the sudden and unexpected loss of my incredible husband of eighteen years in early 2022. I had already lost my wonderful father in 2013, so sadly, I was no stranger to grief and loss.

Life is…unexpected. While that original plan had a lot of meaning at the time, I’ve had to go back to the drawing board. Nowhere on my goals list did I see “orphan/widow by 44.” To say that I’ve learned a lot in the last two and a half years is an understatement. Grief is daunting and almost impossible to describe to the uninitiated. However, finding others to talk to about your journey has been one of the most comforting things I’ve experienced in this new life. And so I persist with the hope of helping others.

I wanted to share a little about my story because our stories are important (and so are our people). I look forward to hearing about yours. When you’re ready, reach out and let’s talk about how I can support you.
